“But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.” (Psalms 115:3)
We don't like being told what to do; we like to do what we want when we want. If you decide to eat lunch at 2:00, that's your choice. It's a free country and we have freedom to do as we like. If someone hinders that freedom, our mouth becomes a boiling pot and we fight for that freedom vigorously. Then why do we balk that God can do as He chooses? Whatever little freedom the peasant has, surely the king has more. At least when God does what He likes, it always turns out perfect.
If I decided to paint a flower today instead of a waterfall, I would have that right. And God, as the creator, has the right to fashion His creation however He wishes. A king can govern his kingdom for the good of the people and God orchestrates all events for the good of His own. The judge has the right to declare a person guilty with enough evidence. God as the all-knowing, perfect judge has the right to condemn all those who transgress the law (of which we all are guilty). If you do what you want, why can't He? Doesn't He have more of a right than us?
