“By You I have been sustained from my birth; You are He who took me from my mother's womb; my praise is continually of You.” (Psalms 71:6)
The bond between a mother and her children is a rope of bronze that cannot be twisted or bent. She who carried you nine months in the womb will carry you in her heart for a lifetime. She raised, fed, and loved you but she did not form, create, or save you from death. Even bronze can be melted, but our attachment to the Creator is a rock that cannot be destroyed either by heat, cold, or storm.
Every drawing I sketch, every story I write, every painting I paint has a special place in my heart. They're a part of me. Likewise, we reside in an honored spot in God's heart; we are a part of Him. God isn't just our creator, He is our sustainer. If He wasn't continually watching over us, our heart would stop pumping and the world would crash into oblivion. He isn't just a mechanic who fixes the problem then leaves the rest up to the vehicle. He is also the driver who steers the wheel in the right direction, constantly oiling each part to make sure it runs properly.
